Geraldine Clarke qualified as a solicitor in 1978, and is head of the firm’s Litigation Department. She has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and general litigation practicing in the areas of banking, intellectual property, employment, EU law, product liability and general contract disputes. She has been involved in many leading and reported cases in recent years.
Geraldine has a large insurance litigation practice, acting for leading insurers in personal injury and professional negligence claims, policy and indemnity disputes and licensing law.
She is a past President of the Law Society and is the Founding Director of the Irish Centre for European Law. A fluent French speaker, she was head of the Irish Delegation to the CCBE (the Council of European Bars and Law Societies) for a number of years. Geraldine is now the representative of The Law Society to the IBA (International Bar Association).
Geraldine is a member of the Irish Financial Services Appeals Tribunal which was established to decide appeals from decisions of the Financial Regulator. She is also a member of the Ministerial Working Group set up to advise on a code of conduct and draft legislation to regulate property service providers.
